Aviela supports the lives of elders, diviners, healers and shamans in west Africa, and is dedicated to passing on the wisdom of these teachers through Malidoma's work in the States. Funds raised by Aviela go directly to clean water and food for shamans and their families in west Africa. The foundation also materially supports the efforts of the women's guilds of Burkina Faso in their collaborative business of producing and selling shea butter. Ray, Ph.D. …brings us thirty-eight years of study and intensive meditation practice within the Tibetan tradition as well as a special gift for applying it to the unique problems, inspirations, and spiritual imperatives of modern people. He teaches within the dharma and meditation lineages of the great siddha Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche.
